Essential Oils and POLLEN SEASON!
We FINALLY have warm weather, which means nature is blooming! But that also means allergy season is upon us. In the past, we would be running into CVS and loading up on anything that had the word ‘allergy’ on it. Well…NOT ANY MORE! Brian and I have learned we can stay above the wellness line by using high quality essential oils daily in our lives.
Below I am going to share a few ways we use essential oils to get through blooming season, with no grogginess or medicine head feelings.
- Diffusing Oil
I list diffusing first because it isn’t only benefiting 1 person, it is refreshing the whole room! And this is my FAVORITE diffuser.
Diffuse about 4-9 essential oils, sit near it and breathe deeply. Some of our favorite diffuser blends for pollen season are:
3 drops Peppermint
3 drops Lemon
3 drops Lavender
3 drops Lemongrass
3 drops Lavender
3 drops Eucalyptus
- Steam Inhalation
This is Brian’s favorite method!
Boil water, add it to a heatproof metal/glass bowl, and then add 7-9 drops of essential oils.
Lean over the bowl and cover the your head and bowl with a towel. Inhale the steam, alternating your breathes through your nose and mouth. We like to use:
3 drops Eucalyptus
3 drops Peppermint
2 drops Thieves
2 drops Lemon
- Neti Pot
Many people fear this option, but this has been my GO-TO method of respiratory system since my first pregnancy over 6 years ago. I use to be the person who said NO WAY, now I advocate this often! We recommend this one.
